Introduction
In today’s data-sensitive world, it’s essential to ensure that your applicant’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as email addresses, mobile numbers, personal identification details, and financial data is only visible to the right individuals. Unrestricted access to such information can lead to significant privacy and compliance risks.
Collexo takes data protection a step further with its latest enhancement: Data Masking. This feature enables institutions to control access to sensitive information while ensuring a seamless user experience.
By default, data masking is enabled for all users except Institute Admins.
If you'd like certain user roles to have access to unmasked data, simply reach out to your account manager.
How Does Masking Work in Collexo?
Collexo recognizes that not all data is the same; there are two primary types of fields in the platform: system fields, which are built-in by default, and custom fields, which are created based on an institution’s specific requirements.
- System fields with PII data are by default masked.
- On the other hand, for custom fields, institute users with access to field configurations have full control over visibility. If they want to mask any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), they can easily do so by toggling the masking setting for each field from the “Manage Fields” page.
This approach ensures that both role-level and field-level controls work together to maintain data privacy without compromising necessary access.
